Aim Partners with UserWay for Digital Inclusivity

If you’ve recently visited the Aim Transportation Solutions website, www.aimntls.com, then you’ve probably noticed the blue accessibility icon hovering in the bottom left corner of the page. This unassuming button is actually a highly sophisticated and powerful piece of technology. More specifically, it’s UserWay’s AI-powered Accessibility Widget, known as the accessWidget, which is the most versatile solution of its kind on the market.

Aim has partnered with UserWay to ensure everyone is able to enjoy and benefit from the Aim website regardless of ability. This award-winning technology does this by simply “plugging into” the Aim website, giving visitors the ability to tailor their digital experience to their unique requirements through more than 50 innovative accessibility features.

The easy-to-use accessWidget is designed to be a bridge between the interface, design and readability of a website and the specific accessibility needs of the user. For example, a user with dyslexia can simply click the “Dyslexia Friendly” button inside the widget, and the website will instantaneously convert all the website text on every page to a font that’s easier to read among those with this condition.

UserWay's innovative widget offers a full menu of accessibility features at the click of a button.

The widget can make instantaneous adjustments as simple as enlarging the text or adjusting contrast to much more complicated ones like being able to translate more than 50 languages.

“We interviewed a couple other companies, but we really liked what UserWay had, especially the live translations,” said Alanna McBride, Aim’s Quality Assurance Specialist and the one helped bring this technology to Aim’s website. “For our company and the industry we operate within, this tool is huge for us.”

As was detailed earlier in the year, Aim launched its Road Rescue feature, which was profiled by CCJ Innovators, on the company’s smartphone app, Aim Navigator. With this function, users can request roadside service quickly and easily right from their fingertips. One of this add-on’s key features is its ability to translate languages both ways, allowing Aim Road Rescue representatives to communicate seamlessly with non-English speaking drivers, a vital tool for Aim as America’s truck driver workforce becomes increasingly more diverse.

With real-time translation on Aim’s official website, it not only aids potential non-English speaking customers in discovering more about Aim’s award-winning services, but it also helps Aim attract and recruit great talent.

UserWay’s accessWidget ensures near 100-percent compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). The importance of this cannot be overstated as Aim has long been committed to inclusion and equal opportunities, which naturally extends into the digital realm.

“At the end of the day, we always want to do what’s right,” Alanna McBride said. “We never want to turn someone away unintentionally because of a disability or language barrier, so embracing this widget truly aligns with Aim’s ethical stance while opening a ton of new doors for people to be able to learn more about our commercial fleet services or find a great new career.”

Be sure you head over to www.aimntls.com and check out this remarkable technology. While you’re there, be sure to check out all the great commercial fleet services and careers that are available.
