On Sunday, August 28 team Aim for a Cure, a group of race participants comprised of Aim Transportation Solutions team members and their families, shined up their running shoes for the 13th annual Panerathon at Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown.

The Panerathon is a 10K run and a 2-mile fun run or walk to benefit the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center at St. Elizabeth Hospital, the first comprehensive breast care center in the region.

With Breast Cancer Awareness Month coming up in October, events like the Panerathon remind us that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Organizations like the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center are working to reduce those rates with prevention, early detection, and treatment.

Aim Virtual Facilities Maintenance Manager, Frank Pauley, took on the responsibility of Team Captain for Aim for a Cure.

“Having a number friends and family members affected by cancer, this event was special to my family and I in a thousand different ways and so full of emotion,” said Pauley.

“I can’t put into words what it means to me to be able to wear the Aim logo and represent our company’s values at an event as moving as the Panerathon,” he continued.

“Aim Transportation Solutions’ core values of integrity, trust, accountability, and commitment extend not only to our core business values, but also to the ways in which we interact with our communities,” said Scott Fleming, Aim Co-President. “Participation in events such as the Panerathon and our sponsorship of the United Way are just a few of the ways we at Aim are committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work.”

The 13th annual Panerathon, with its largest turnout ever, raised over $475,000 for the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center and has now raised over $3.5 million in the fight against breast cancer.
