Region Sales Meeting Sets Pace for the Rest of the Year

Regional Vice President of Sales Joe Telega recently held his annual region sales meeting to review the year so far, sharpen the team’s sales tools amid an unpredictable economy and strategize how to carry the group’s speeding momentum into the end of the year and close out strong.

Not only is the current economy unpredictable, but the transportation industry itself is infamous for its volatility, with demand sporadically rising and falling, new laws and regulations introduced regularly, cutting-edge technologies hitting the scene, and the list goes on—and on. So, in order to uphold Aim’s unmatched brand of commercial fleet services, communication and a unified strategy are critical. That’s why these regional sales meetings, as well as the National Sales Meeting (held every January), are critical to Aim’s success and ultimately the success of our valued customers’ shipping operations.

This year, Joe’s team (which is spread across Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan) along with representatives from various departments and divisions—including maintenance, marketing, recruiting, IT, accounting and Aim Integrated Logistics—gathered at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center in Independence, OH, located just outside of Cleveland.

During the two-day conference, the group focused on several key topics tied to Aim’s menu of commercial transportation services, including: full-service leasing trends, dedicated contract carriage, freight brokerage, professional shop management service (Aim ProShop) and maintenance. The sales team also took advantage of the time together do some sales training, work on networking skills, discuss industry best practices and review company policies and procedures.

“Countless variables affect our industry—perhaps like no other—such as the economy, government regulations, consumer trends, OEM capabilities, parts shortages and that’s just a small handful,” said Joe Telega. “Events like this meeting help us continue to be proactive rather than reactive; that is, it’s our mission to be prepared so our customers never feel the turbulence of the transportation industry.”

Aim Business Development Specialist Susan Dodson was recognized for leading the region in revenue. She’s at an extraordinary 129% of her annual goal at just halfway through the year and is in the top three highest sales performers in the entire company.

At the end of the first day’s meetings, everyone broke for a fun team building event and dinner at TopGolf. The team competed in the sports entertainment complex’s competitive high-tech golf game. Beating out the fierce competition and taking first place was Mike Gross, Aim Business Development Specialist for Aim Integrated Logistics. On his heels in second and third place respectively were Anthony Gabriele, Aim Regional Rental Manager, and Jeremy Kleemook, Aim Regional Director of Maintenance.

“I want to thank everyone who made this year’s meeting such a success,” Joe concluded. “Between the determination and skill of my amazing team to the extraordinary support from everyone working behind the scenes to support our sales mission, I have no doubt we’ll finish out the year strong as ever.”
